The Walden Early Years: Where possibility starts early
Walden International School is dedicated to cultivating and preparing principled, compassionate and confident young women and men who will become globally responsible citizens. Our balanced, world-class education, with a unique focus on wellness, fosters respect and harmony for self and others and empowers students to imagine, explore, and achieve a peaceful, sustainable future.
The Walden Early Years program (JK/SK) moves beyond traditional childcare. We use the gold-standard IB PYP framework to turn natural curiosity into foundational brilliance.
The Academic Core: More than ABCs
The UFLI Advantage: Unlike standard play-based programs, our Senior Kindergartens use the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) program. It is a systematic phonics approach that ensures students enter Grade 1 as confident, fluent readers.
Conceptual Math & Science: We don’t just count; we categorize. Through inquiry-based learning, students apply mathematical logic and scientific observation to real-world problems.

Wellness: Mindfulness in motion
Zones of Regulation: We empower students with a specialized vocabulary for their emotions. By learning to identify their "Zone," children develop the self-regulation and empathy necessary for leadership.
Learning Without Walls: Fresh air is a cognitive catalyst. Our two expansive outdoor classrooms are permanent extensions of our program, used for everything from scent experiments to nature-based patterning.
A Connected Community: Seamless advancement
Our small-school environment means your child is already a known and valued member of the community before they even reach Grade 1.
Validated By Research: Research supports the IB PYP
Studies show that children in this framework develop literacy and learning skills at significantly higher rates than their peers. At Walden, we pair this global standard with a personalized, small-class environment.
