Why it’s so important to unplug
As leaders, we get so busy that we often cannot appreciate that there are much greater things in life than simply managing the efficiency and effectiveness of your business.
In early June, I had the opportunity to unplug, learn, and reflect during our Grade 8 Grad trip to British Columbia. I met new people and allowed myself to be humbled by the majesty of nature.
We explored the many wonders of Vancouver and the surrounding area. Whistler, Capilano Canyon, Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver.
Our students braved the weather and conquered their fears at the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
They got to experience some treetop trekking and spotted some wildlife, too!
Spent a wonderful morning learning about what makes us human and the connections we share with each other, both locally and globally!
Watching our students unplug made me realize with even greater clarity that unplugging helps our kids develop social skills. It helps them (and us!) focus on human-to-human relationships that make life meaningful.
Our world is complex, noisy and very confusing, but the nature of life is not.
This summer, make some ‘me time’ and enjoy the view.
The best of your life is happening right in front of you.
